It is nearly two weeks after the last of the 2015 Lakes Jam performers have packed up their subwoofers and drove off into the sunset, yet at the Brainerd International Speedway, you can still hear Lee Brice cracking a beer under a microphone if you listen hard enough. This year’s musical memorialization yet again brought three days of festivities to Brainerd. The highlights of the weekend are nearly innumerous, but in case you’ve begun to forget, we’d like to share some of our favorite parts of Lakes Jam:
From old favorites to up-and-coming artists, Lakes Jam had a little something to offer everyone this year. From Boston and Chase Rice to Loverboy, Jarrod Niemann, and Lee Brice, there was bound to be a fantastic act tearing up the stage from morning (well, early afternoon) to night!
Besides the music, we had a few tricks up our sleeves this year to keep the campers entertained throughout the weekend. As anyone who tried sleeping past 11 am on Saturday near VIP camping will tell you, the IWA ripped apart the pond with their amazing motorized acrobatic skills. Just in case watching some crazy-talented men and women race across open water on a snowmobile wasn’t your thing (and we really can’t see how it’s not) You could have mosied over to a line of classic cars and talked motors and carburetors with the other Lakes Jam gearheads.
Though only in our third year, Lakes Jam in quickly becoming a music festival with some of the most die-hard fans around. Just one look at the Jammers rocking out to Boston in the rain would have told you that a bit of water wasn’t going to put a damper on anyone’s mood. It’s not just the fans, though- Chris Hawkey, who could have been seen sporting his new Hawkey hockey jersey (courtesy of Jerry Braam and the Lakes Jam staff) on Friday expressed his Lakes Jam love on stage. Chris has been performing at Lakes Jam for three years running and says he will have more to come. We’ll be happy to have you back, Chris!
Another successful year has come and gone, and we are already starting to snowball some fantastic ideas for 2016. Until then, comment your favorite Lakes Jam 2015 experience, and don’t forget to Keep Calm and Jam On!
